Established on October 22nd 2015 as a registered non-profit and Non-Governmental organization, Peer To Peer Uganda (PEERU) works towards social transformation and sustainable development with focus on integrated Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, HIV and AIDS, TB, Maternal and Child Adolescent Health, and Harm Reduction programming with emphasis placed on vulnerable and inadequately served groups of adolescents and youths (10 – 30 years) in Uganda. With foot print in over 31 districts, PEERU has demonstrated that young people are significant actors in sustainable development and can drive positive change at grass root, national, regional and global levels.

Our integrated programming approaches are implemented in accordance with national, regional, and global priorities. Our programs as an organization are based on a holistic bottom up model, focusing on individual leadership change amongst young people as well as systematic change in policy and practice towards a more supportive environment for youth driven development. PEERU provides, equips and inspires adolescents and youth in Uganda with high quality, high impact and gender-sensitive programming through strategic communication, issue specific advocacy, capacity building, specialized service referral and youth focused research.

Between October 2015 to 2020, PEERU successfully implemented various different programs, projects, and activities namely; READY Teens (Resilient Empowered Adolescent and Young person) and Girls Act (Girls Kisoboka), Know Your Body Campaign, The Annual Youth Mentorship Program, READY Pulse, HER Voice, The Annual Stake Holders Dialogue on Adolescent Health and The School Health Clubs Program.

Over the past 5 years, PEERU has built a strong niche and attained vast experience in advocacy, and the mobilisation of stakeholders to scale up the delivery of SRHR, HIV and TB programming to young people at both grassroots and national levels.

The key priority areas for PEERU include;
